Reading a scroll I can't open
I'm working on the Vesuvius Challenge, mostly on one sealed Herculaneum scroll, PHerc1203. A fix I wrote for the data-loading side won a progress prize; the rest of the time I'm figuring out where the scroll is most likely readable — and, more often, why it isn't.
Making LLMs run well on the hardware in front of you
Benchmarks on a 16 GB M3, small fixes upstream in MLX and vLLM, and write-ups that include the numbers that didn't flatter me. The latest are in the writing, and I send the good ones to On Device.
